Visita Iglesia in Bulacan
Wednesday night, April 20, 2011 after my work, I’ll try to organize this Visita Iglesia kung may sasama because this is the first time to my family na gawin ang ganitong tradition ng magkakasama, I search the map of bulacan in the internet para ipakita sa kanila, then sinabi kong punpuntahan namin ang 14 different historical churches sa Bulacan. At hindi nga ako nabigo. Kinabukasan, Thursday April 21 pumunta sa bukas na grocery sila mama para bumili ng tinapay at inumin na aming babaunin. Since the weather is hot, we decided to leave around 4:00 pm to go in bulacan, mas ok nang hapon umalis to avoid traffic na rin. We started visiting at around 5:00pm in Angat Bulacan and here's our route to visit the following churches.
We get the Angat Church at around 5:30 pm for first station. A 400-year old church, the Sta. Monica Church is one of the oldest churches of the province, and one of the most beautiful chuches in the Philippines
Then the second station at around 7:00 pm, Baliuag Church, The Parish Church of San Agustin, Constructed between 1769 to 1774, the style of Baliuag church is Baroque as seen on the facade and interiors.
The third station at exactly 8:20 pm, Plaridel Church, Formerly called Quingua Plaridel one of the earliest town to be established at around 1599. Its Parish Church of Santiago Apostol has one of the unique pediment in the province. It was here that the money and jewels of San Agustin in Intramuros, Manila were kept during the British Occuption in 1762-1763
Fourth station at around 9:00 pm in San Miguel Church, The current Parish Church of San Miguel Arcangel in San Miguel de Mayumo that is the bounding town with Nueva Ecija to the north was constructed from 1848-1868.
Fifth station at around 10:30 pm, San Rphael Church, There are no records on the actual year of building the current Parish Church of San Juan de Dios but it might already have been started before 1863. It has also been heavily renovate in the last few decades.
Sixth station, past 12:00 mn in Calumpit Church, Calumpit borders the town of Apalit in Pampanga and is the first town in Bulacan to be Christianized in 1572 as a visita of Tondo in Manila. Construction of the Parish Church of San Nicolas de Tolentino is thought to be started in the middle 17th century but over the years, it has been renovated many time. In 1899, the revolutionaries burned the church.
Ngunit hindi na namin inabutang bukas ang simbahan, but we still have continued to visit the all remaining churches.
Seventh station, Sta. Ana, Hagonoy Church, The church’s notable features are the massive Tuscan columns that give the structure an upward thrust and the rose windows at the center makes the location of the choir loft. The bell tower, lofty and tapering, has six levels and harmonizes with the facade. The images of Augustinian saints as well as the large portico were added to the structure in the 20th century.
At hindi ko na rin nagawang bantayan pa ang bawat oras ng aming pagdating.
Eighth station, Immaculiate Conception, Malolos Church, The Cathedral was the seat of power of the President of the First Philippine Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo. When the Philippine-American War erupted in 1899, President Aguinaldo moved the capital from Malolos to San Fernando in Pampanga. The Cathedral was burned to delay the pursuing Americans. The Cathedral was rebuilt and, later, became the seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Malolos.

Tenth station, Guiguinto Church, The Parish Church of San Ildefonso in Guiguinto is one of the oldest in the province. It is believed that building of the church and convent was started prior to 1691. However, it took sometime to finish maybe because of the economic situation of the town that by 1734, it was still unfinished.
Eleventh station, Bulacan, Bulacan Church, The parish church of the town, Nuestra Senora dela Asuncion (Our Lady of the Assumption) is one of the oldest and largest churches in Bulacan. The main door of church are closed and the side door are only open because may pabasa.

The oroginal location was abandoned due to an earthquake when it leveled the town. The current Parish Church of San Miguel de Archangelwas built in 1863, formerly the site of an old chapel.
Fourteenth station at around 5:00 am, Obando Church, The Church of Obando (also known as theSan Pascual de Baylon Parish Church) is one of the oldest and most historic churches in the Philippines.
The obando church is also open when we arrived and this is end of our trail. Then we arrived in home at around 6:30 am and we were happy we did the lenten sacrifice. At sa sobrang antok, bumaba ako ng sasakyan na nakapikit patungo sa aking hihigaan.
To all the people in Bulacan who really assisted me and my family to reach our destinations, thank you, thank you so much.
